I am glad to say not much to report this week. πŸ™‚ I am feeling pretty good besides my knees but I am trying to work up some courage to try the shots…lol. The weather has been pretty nice here with a storm thrown in but next week is suppose to be dry again, over all August has started out really mild which is weird for this time of year as it’s usually really hot.

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • The Big Book of Rogues and Villains – It’s a book about some of the great fictional rogues and villains. πŸ™‚

Audiobooks for review

  • Killer Party – Love this series!! Book #9 and can you believe it, it’s a series I will soon be all caught up on once I listen to this one. πŸ™‚

So a couple of weeks ago I went to a used bookstore and completely forgot to show you a pic of my haul. So here it is.

Okay, well that is a bit fuzzy so here is the list.

  • Blindsighted by Karen Slaughter
  • The Face of Deception by Iris Johansen
  • Rules of Prey by John Sandford

  • Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King

I have a them going on there of mystery and horror. I am also trying some new authors and was finding it very hard to find first in a series but I got a few. I read John Saul a long time ago so thought I would try him again. πŸ™‚ Murder, She Wrote is one of my all time favorite TV Shows so I wanted to try a few of the books…lol.

Books read last week

Β

  • Death Al Dente – Book 1 in the Food Lover’s Village mysteries and it was a good start to a series. πŸ™‚
  • 30 Second Death – I think this is going to be my new favorite series if it keeps going like it is! This is book two. πŸ™‚

What I watched

I finished up a couple of series that I have been working on this week. I watched the rest of the first season of Chesapeake Shores and now I can’t wait to watch the new season coming up. I also finished up the second season of Good Witch and now I have to wait for the third season to come on there which will take forever and I wasn’t happy with how the season ended. πŸ™ I need something new to watch but just not sure what I am in the mood for…lol. Oh and I watched the second episode of Midnight, Texas and I liked it…lol. πŸ™‚

How was your week? What did you get?

I hope the cooler weather sticks around but I don’t want an early winter. I can handle a long fall…lol.

  1. OOh nice! Lots of new to me ones here!! Hope you enjoy them all!

And as to your comment on my post, Stormi, I really don’t have the room for all these covers! Lol! My closet is a nightmare with where I stack random books, my shelves are overflowing…I really need my own place! Lol!

    Have a GREAT day!

I have a lot of books in tubs. πŸ™‚ So do you rotate your books, when you get ones you already have with new covers do you take the old covers down and put the new ones up in their place?

  2. Very nice haul and I love used book stores too, Stormi. The one in my town even calls me when a new batch comes in that has authors I enjoy and some new ones they think I might like. I also hit thrift shops and yard sales. It’s fun!

  3. I love going to our used book store, although, I probably need a chaperone so I don’t go over my budget. Who am I kidding. lol…. Enjoy all many amazing finds you picked up. And thank you for stopping by my Sunday Post earlier. πŸ™‚

Well, I took books into sell or get credit. I normally do credit and rummage through the books so I have a book budget of how ever much I got in credit…lol. This go around I had 80 bucks so I did well and even got my father and brother a couple of how to books that took up my precious book money…they were lucky I was in a good mood. πŸ™‚

  4. Enjoy the mild weather! We have had some oppressive heat even after a little rain storm the other day. As much as I love used book stores, I spend way too much when I walk in one. Maybe you won’t need the shots for a while now? That would be good, right?

Wish I could send our mild weather your way!! I wish I didn’t need the shots but my knees really hurt so I think I will have to try them.

  5. We’re having a mild start to August too, and all I can say is, thank goodness! because August in Virginia is usually horrendously hot and humid. Nice bookstore haul, by the way! I love used bookstores, but they’re so dangerous! [winks]

  6. It’s been about normal here weather wise. I love used bookstores but we only have one around here and I refuse to shop there because the owner is not nice, let’s just leave it at that. Enjoy your reads!

  7. Good to hear you’re feeling a bit better! What will the shots do for your knees? I had to give my shots once upon a time for a vitamin deficiency and it isn’t as bad as it seems it will be. Do you have trouble with getting shots at the doctors or blood drawn? If it’ll make your knees feel better, it’s probably worth it πŸ™‚

I know, August has been mild here too – I mean, it’s still hot, but we’ve had some rain and it’s not feeling like 110. Makes me worry about September lol! Enjoy it while we can, i guess? Have a great week!

  8. I love secondhand books! I always get so many for so cheap! That reminds me that I forgot to add my latest haul to my post today. Haha, I guess I’ll have to save it for next week. πŸ™‚
I hope you enjoy your books and have a great week!

  9. So glad you are feeling better. I’m enjoying Midnight Texas too. It’s a tad cheesy but that’s to be expected with network television. I haven’t managed to watch much this weekend. We did watch Alien Covenant last night and I didn’t think it was that great. It’s a nice cool gloomy day here today which is making me crave fall.

  10. Yeah we had a hot week and then Friday was COLD, so it was kinda weird. Good luck if you have the shots- not a needle fan myself, but I imagine they help? And I bet they’re not too bad. πŸ™‚

Killer Party looks fun, and hope you enjoy Guaranteed to Bleed.

  11. I love Murder She Wrote and keep meaning to try the book but haven’t yet. I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of them! You’re tempting me to go to the local used bookstore and no part of me needs to go to the local used bookstore! I already have boxes and boxes of books I’m not reading! I’m sorry about your knee and hopefully the shots will help though I understand the dread. Have a great week – or rest of the week because I’m running soooooo behind!

  12. Oh my mom does shots for her knees and they help her so much. She’s only had one hard time with them but even that was worth it. But she’s been doing them for years now. Trying to avoid a replacement. Good luck with your decision!
