The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.
So this week weather wise it started off really nice and ended really cold. π I guess old man winter is showing us it’s still winter time. Saturday we had rain, sleet, and snow but not enough to do anything but it was still cold. π
My first critique session in class went pretty good. Everyone liked my critter logos and I got a few suggestions. Some were better than mine and you could tell they knew what they were doing already…lol. That is why I volunteered to go first…lol…so I wouldn’t get intimidated. π
So here they are I did two different versions. We had to make up a company to go with them.
This week is spring break and then our next project is making t-shirt designs, so he wants us to start sketching out ideas over break.

Bought
So a few things went on sale from my wishlist that I couldn’t help but grab…lol.
Books read last week
- Defending the Dead – Though I am liking this series it does seem a bit repetitiveΒ at times.
- Pumpkins in Paradise – Good start to a cozy series. It was a quick short listen which is fun sometimes.
- Python’s Embrace – Love this author and her books are always so much fun!
- Fatality by Firelight – Another favorite author and I had to jump on this one as soon as I got it in the mail. π
- A Lady’s Code of MisConduct – I always liked the mean guy turns nice after a good bump on the head…lol. π
Currently reading
- Every Trick in the Rook – One of my favorite cozy authors, her books are always set in England. Just getting started on this one so no opinion yet.
- The Crow Trap – This one is a long one so it might be here a while as I read a bit on it at a time.
- Hunted on the Fens – Love this series so I had to jump back into it now that I have this one and the next one to listen too. π
What might be up next
What I’m Watching
Besides my favorite shows like NCIS,Β NCIS:NO,Β Bull, and Lethal Weapon, I am normal on Netflix watching Midsomer Murders or something like that mostly for background noise since I have seen the episodes over and over. This weekend end though I subscribed to Acorn TV as I am going to get a Roku soon. I can watch it on my computer though and I binge watched three Agatha Raisin episode and they were so fun. I didn’t know that that book series had a show and I haven’t read the books so it will be fun to see how different the show is from the book. π
How was your week? What did you get?
Some people are just naturals at that kind of stuff. I think yours look great. I’m having the same kind of weather here. Warm at the beginning of the week. Cold and snow at the end. Spring is not ready to be here yet.
Thanks, I think they are okay since I went from zero knowledge to little critters…lol. π I know some are naturals at it and that is why I liked going first so I didn’t stress out about it after I went the rest of the class was smooth sailing…lol.
Spring isn’t ready to be here but I am ready for it to be here…lol.
Wow! Those are still really cool! I’ve honestly never really understood how all the graphic design stuff works! So I feel like you’re already leagues ahead of me! LOL!
Nice new reads too! All are totally new to me ones! Seems to be a pattern day for some reason! LOL! Hope you enjoy each and every one of them!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower π
Thanks, it’s been fun learning. I didn’t know much about it till the class. π
Love your logos!
Thanks!
Great logos! I had to do something like that in high school art class and had such a hard time with it. Of course, we didn’t have computers back then to even generate ideas.
Have a great week!
Thanks, it was fun but we have been working on those for a while now so I am glad to move to something different. π
I love your logos, especially the bear. I read The Night Sister when it was first released and really liked it. Hope you aren’t getting too much snow this weekend.
Thanks, I worked so hard on them but still think they could use some work. π Life of an artist…lol. I think I remember you reading The Night Sister is why it was on my wishlist so I was excited to see it go on sale. π We didn’t get much snow but man is it freezing today, the feels like is 16. π I want my spring weather back!
I’ve been eyeing The Girls Next Door.
I also like going first in class..it takes away the stress you get when waiting your turn…and, like you said, less intimidating.
Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I have too so since it wasn’t to much I decided to grab it. π
Your books all look good to me, I read most of the genres! Happy reading and enjoy your week ahead.
I read a lot of different genres too, thanks for stoping by! π
Every Trick in the Rook looks intriguing – as ever your reading rate leaves me awestruck. Have a great week, Stormi:) My Sunday Post –
https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/03/12/sunday-post-12th-march-2017/
I have enjoyed that series and well I don’t have much of a life that is why I can read so much…lol. Single, no kids, my time is mine. π
Your logos look wonderful and fun, Stormi. Looking forward to your t-shirt designs. The weather did a switcharoo on us last night. Woke up to drizzles and chills. It’s moving out now though. Got to be ready for spring break the end of this month. I plan to soak up the sun and maybe even take a dip in the pool.
I am curious about t-shirt design but nervous too…lol. We had a bit switharoo on the weather here it’s like 35 but feels like 16. π I want my spring weather back! I want to come live with you and your pool. π
The weather here has been all over the place too…I am looking forward to spring being here for good. I really need to read the first three of the Joy Ellis books. I have them on my kindle just need to get round to it…love them too. Have a good week!
You really should, I have enjoyed the first two Joy Ellis and this third one is wild as the police are being hunted! π
Lots of great books you got there and your critter logos look so cute!
Thanks!
It has turned chilly here. I used the oven the last two mornings for my breakfast instead of the toaster to take the chill out of the air. I like your logos! Makes me think of a project we had to do in high school (create a business with all the stuff: business cards, letterhead, map, etc.) I also put stuff on that I’ve seen many times just for background noise.
Thanks, I was so nervous about my logos but everything went pretty good. We have a cool teacher and he isn’t real strict he just wants you to have fun and learn how to make things. He knows that practice is the only thing that will make you real good.
Nice job with the logos! I think it’s turned colder almost everywhere. Brrr. I hope you enjoyed Fatality by Firelight!
Thanks, I am glad you liked my logos. π I really enjoyed Fatality by Firelight. π
It’s been cold here but no snow (knock on wood). I need it to warm up so bad lol. Good job on the designs! I like the first ISCC one a lot.
I’ve never watched Midomer Murders but I’ve seen it on the Netflix and I’m tempted to give them a try. π
Thanks, I like that one too! I thought it was fun to put a doo rag on a bald eagle too with my American Doo Rags…hehehe. Our teacher was like get wild with them….lol
If you like British mysteries then you would like Midsomer Murders. π
This weather is something else! There were days in the 70s last week (which is weird), and then in the 30s! And Monday/Tuesday, it’s supposed to snow? I’m over it!
I love historical romance, and so that Duran book has my attention! I love the color of her dress. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fabulous week. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I am so over this weather too, today it’s 35 but feels like 16 :(. That Duran book was a good one! π
