The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.
The weather is so up and down! I do hope the last bad cold spell is over because I am almost out of wood and don’t really want to order any more if we don’t have too!
Got my little fur baby a haircut! She hasn’t had a good shave off in a while and I felt bad because it was still kind of cold, so I had to get her a jacket and she is not happy…lol. She pouts the whole time it’s on as she never has had one before.ย Here is a before, after and pouty picture of Dresden…lol.
I started watching Law and Order UK on Acorn TV and kind of hooked…lol. It’s kind of cool seeing an American show turned British. Started watching Wired in the Blood again on Acorn TV and other than that not really watching anything new.
Have a great week and happy reading!

Books I have added
Netgalley
- Within These Wicked Walls – It’s an Ethiopian retelling of Jane Eyre!!! So I love Jane Eyre and I am just super curious about this one…lol.
- Deadly Edition – One of my 2Q anticipated books and a series I really enjoy and kept up with! I love a good Scottish setting!
- Pride and Premeditation – Another one from my 2Q anticipated books and one I am really excited for because it’s a Pride and Prejudice retelling into a whodunit!!
Books read last week
- Every Last Fear – This one was very surprising, I enjoyed it a lot!
- Final Exam – Another good one in the Witch City mystery series. Only 3 to go to be caught up! ๐
Currently reading
- Shadow and Bone – Barb and I are buddy reading this trying to see what the hype is all about and the new Netflix show is coming out this month I believe and we got curious…lol.
- The Beekeeper’s Apprentice – I am about 27% into this one, it’s not an audiobook that goes very fast…lol. I am close to 4 hours into it and it’s 13 hours.
What might be up next
- ย The Haunted Forest Tour – Jeff Strand usually writes really campy horror so I am hoping this will be fun, it’s for a horror book club on facebook that I try and participate in each month.
- Near the Bone – My last attempt to like this author! Read three and only liked one so she might be a one hit wonder for me which is a bummer cause her books always sound really good…lol.
How was your week? What did you get?
I remember when our first dog was a puppy we bought her a little leather jacket for the cold. She wasn’t really impressed either. Lol.
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower ๐
Yeah, she is not happy with the jacket but she only has to wear it in the mornings as it’s a bit chilly. At night she snuggles in my blanket and doesn’t need it. Have a great week!
Dresden doesn’t even look like the same dog! You can tell she doesn’t like that sweater๐ Hope your weather stays warm soon, I know that up and down is so frustrating. Have a good week!
Your pup is so cute. I love the haircut and sweater! ๐ The 3 new netgalley books look amazing! I’m looking forward to Shadow and Bone on the 23!
Dresden looks so adorable but her disapproving look is so visible. haha. It’s been years since I read Shadow and Bone and I never got into the rest of the books but I’m still quite interested to watch the upcoming adaptation. Who knows, maybe that pushes me to actually read the rest of the series!
Lol, the dog pictures are so cute! Definitely doesn’t look happy with the hair cut. ๐
Haha. I love the jacket. Lulu LOVES hers. We are going to have nice weather this week and we got the cool veggies all planted this weekend.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Aww what cute pics! Poor thing being cold lol.
I saw Pride & Premeditation at Barnes and Noble and thought it looked good.
That’s a bummer about Near the Bone. I liked her Girl In Red…
The weather where I am has been so dry and warm. In fact, my area just had it’s first wildfire (I live in southern california, and it’s definitely not fire season yet). Ugh. I hate this weather. I want to reread Shadow and Bone. I loved it when I first read it but that as like 8 years ago..I wonder if I would still like it now. I also want to read Near the Bone. I’ve never read that auther though. I’d be curious to read your thoughts on that one! Hope you have a good week ๐
Oh poor Dresden! It’s funny how dogs get their feelings hurt after a haircut. Hopefully she’s feeling a little better. I do love her coat though. Laurie R King’s books are not fast reads. I enjoy them but they’re not books I fly through. I enjoyed Deadly Edition but now I feel like I need to go back and read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It’s probably been 20 years since I read it and I remember nothing. Have a great week!
