The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.
If I don’t do much commenting or anything this weekend it’s because my paper is due on Monday and I am writing this on Thursday so that I can spend the rest of the weekend working on my paper and a Powerpoint presentation that is due on Wednesday…it’s crunch time!!!
Oh and forgot to tell you but next semester I am taking Graphic design Illustrator. I really wanted to do Photoshop first but it wasn’t offered near me this year. I didn’t want to travel to one of their off-site campuses so I will do Illustrator first. Those two are interchangeable in the program on which one you take first and I have to do both before going farther into graphic design. It’s the only class I am taking as I want to be able to just concentrate on it as it’s something I have never done before! ๐
I got a lot of great feedback from my month of Thanksgiving so I am really glad you all liked it and I am already working on how to make it better next year and starting a list now of people ย and books to be thankful so I don’t have to rack my brain at the end of the year they will be in my notebook…lol.
Oh and don’t forget to sign up for Winter Coyer ย and I also have sign ups for New Release Reading Challenge 2017 on my blog this week so check it out and sign up! ๐ย (sidebar) For those of you who do the Cloak and Dagger Reading Challenge, I am doing it again this year with Barb, but my sign up post might not happen till later next week when I have a bit of time to work on it. So stay tuned! ๐
Is it spring yet!!! It’s going to be so cold next week and I am not looking forward to it at all! ๐ Nights in the teens. ๐

Books I have added
It’s a miracle but I guess when your busy writing a paper you don’t have a lot of time to look for books for review which is a good thing. ย ๐ So no Netgalley or Edelweiss.
I did get some audios I had requested for review in the mail.
- Committed by E.H. Reinhard
- Murder in Christmas River by Meg Muldoon
- The Old Witcheroo by Dakota Cassidy
- Some Danger Involved by Will Thomas
I apologise for not leaving links to any of my books this go around.
Few freebies
Gifted
Was part of the First Annualย Obsessive Book Nerd book exchange and my gifter got me this one and I am excited cause I have wanted to try it! ๐
Won
Won this off of Wicked Cozy Authors website, they did a thankful month and had a lot of giveaways. This is some swag from their Crime Bake, sounds like a fun thing to be a part of. Got a book, a survival kit (has a pink whistle and compass, a pretty candle holder with a moose on it, a luggage tag, what looks like an ice breaker game for the authors and so it has a bunch of autographs on it and then a Writers magazine. ๐ Pretty cool, huh!! ๐
Got at work
One perk of working at the Scholastic call center is they give you free books sometimes and this is one of them. ๐ Not huge on screen plays but that sure is a pretty cover! ๐
Books read last week
- If Walls Could Talk – First in the Haunted Renovation Mystery series and it was interesting.
- Slay It With Flowers – I enjoyed this one, so completely different that the Hallmark version of this book for the Flower Shop mysteries, but I like it that way. Gave me something new so it was easy to just go with the flow. (I must admit I like the version of Marco on the Hallmark show than the book one…lol.)
Currently reading
- Dead Girls Society -About 71% done and it’s been pretty good, curious to find out who is behind the Society.
- Strawberry Shortcake Murder – Just getting started so only about 10% in and so no verdict yet but I enjoyed book one and though they are different my favorite Hallmark mystery is based on it! (I am crushing onย Carmeron Matheson who plays Mike Kingston…lol.)
- Trouble with Scotland – Just started it last night but I am sure it will be good as it’s my favorite series. ๐
What might be up next
How was your week? What did you get?
Eeee! Good luck with your paper and presentation!
Thanks, I will need it. ๐
OOh very nice!! I’m not usually one for screenplays myself either. Movie novelizations are another thing though! LOL! But I will say I haven’t read one of those in years! I was a huge fan of the Underworld versions, but I don’t think they ever did one for the last movie. Not sure if they’ll do one for the one next year either. Oh well!
Hope you enjoy all the new reads!!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower ๐
Yeah, but it does make for a pretty book on my shelf. ๐
That paper is cutting into our chatting time ๐
I have a feeling the PP presentation is going to be awesome!
Very proud of you and the not a lot of book grabbing this week!
I hope you have a great week, Stormi! Miss you! Happy Reading! ox
I hope your paper went well. I remember trying to study and work and it’s hard! Some great books on your list. I’ve heard good things about The Dead Girls Society and it’s on my list so will be interested to hear your thoughts. Emma
I need to see if my local community college has some graphic design-type continuing education classes. Or maybe coding for dummies. lol I know they do have something, I just need to see how much and when.
Good luck on the school stuff! This week is my daughter’s last week. She’ll be glad of the month break.
A busy week! I’m so glad your courses are going well! It has only been cold for about 4 or 5 days now, and it is already starting to get to me. I’m going to have to break out the winter clothing and pjs.
Good luck on your paper and powerpoint presentation, Stormi. Hope they go well for you. You got some good looking books this week. I hope you enjoy them. Have a great week!
Hey it’s looking Christmasy around here Stormi- nice job. “Is it spring yet” lol- it’s snowing here today!! Ack! Not a lot, but still… Glad Dead Girls Society is good…
I’m thinking of doing the Cloak and dagger this year, hopefully. After swearing off all challenges in 2016 I thinking maybe I’ll do some in ’17. Good luck with your paper!!
Best of luck on your presentation. I don’t know how you manage to get everything done!
Some great new books there Stormi and I hope you’ve been able to finish your big assignment over the weekend.
The graphic design course sounds great and I look forward to hearing about how much you’re enjoying it when it starts. x
Congrats on not requesting any Netgalley books this week. You would have caught me with Soul Summoner but I already have it ๐ Good luck on your paper and presentation and think how relieved you will be to have them both done. I’m trying to figure out what challenges I want to do next year. I enjoyed all that I participated in but want to add at least one or two new ones!
Good luck with the paper and your Powerpoint presentation! I loved your Thanksgiving posts and will try to do that next year. I’m looking for new reading challenges for next year so I’ll have to check out the Cloak & Dagger. Have a great week!
Good luck with school deadlines.I bought the screenplay to keep my set complete..lol Not a fav format, but loved the movie. Glad your thankful posts were so well received. Have a lovely week and stay warm.
Good luck with your paper and have lots of fun in your class.
Good luck with your paper. I loved being in school. I would be a professional college student if I could afford it. I was not a fan of papers though. I didn’t have too many of them when I was in school. Illustrator sounds great. I never really learned how to use it. I’ve used Photoshop for years, though I don’t consider myself an expert by any means. I hope you enjoy it.
Good luck on your paper and have a great week!
Welcome to school! That’s totally me! I’m a big fan procrastination, so I usually end up doing everything at the last possible moment. Good luck with your paper, and have a good week! ๐
