The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.
For those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving, I hope you had a good one and stuffed yourself with yummy foods. I know I am so full I sort of felt miserable…lol. We played a couple of games and I even put down my book to partake in family fun which I don’t do a lot off…lol. We played a game you download on your phone where you make up words or definitions to try and outwit your friends/family. It was pretty fun and then my young cousins had a game called Googly eyes and you have to wear these funny glasses that you can’t hardly see out and try and draw a picture like you would with Pictionary but you can’t really see what you’re doing…lol. That was pretty fun.
Other than working on my paper and doing a bit of reading not much else to report. π
It’s cold and I am on the countdown to spring/summer…lol.

Books I have added
Netgalley
- Scheduled to Death -Book two in the Maggie McDonald mysteries.
- A Fatal Romance – I think this is a new series at least I couldn’t find any info on it being part of a series. I hate that, don’t know why they can’t put what book number a book is!
- White Gold – is book two of the Catherine SohonΒ Elephant mystery series.
Audiobook bought
- Soulless – So I don’t do many rereads but I never finished this series and I have decided to listen to the series and finish it out that way since I have a couple already on audio. Book one was on sale so had to grab it while I could. π I enjoyed the three books that I did read just never got around to finishing it so can’t wait to go back and read again.
Bought Kindle
- Marlene’s Revenge – Grabbed it for .99 even though I haven’t read Gretel yet so I am having high hopes…lol.
- Scene of the Climb – Joined Tonya Kappe’s new book club called Death Becomes Us Mystery Book Club and this is the January read so I grabbed it since it was only 1.99 and I had tiny bit of monies. π
- Walk into Silence – It was a Kindle First book so thought I would try it for 1.99.
Freebies
Some are no longer free so be careful if you find one you like. π
Books read last week
- Tooth and Claw – It’s a good one!
- Deadlocked – Above one was good enough I had to read the next book. π
- Lone Wolf – Not as much action as I would have preferred
Currently reading
- Dead Girls Society – Just started so no opinion yet.
- Slay it With Flowers – Just started so no opinion yet but it’s book two of a series I have enjoyed the Hallmark movie version and of course the book version is so totally different…lol.
- If Walls Could Talk – Almost done and I am enjoying it. It’s my first cozy by this author. (My phone audio choice while in between classes.)
What might be up next
How was your week? What did you get?
My week has been pretty much reading and blogging as I try to finish the last two Iron Druid novels by the end of the month, thus catching up before the next book comes out…yea! One series caught up, a TON to go! Sounds like you had a fun Thanksgiving. I plan to stuff myself with lots of cake during the upcoming festive period until I get that sick bloated feeling…! Have a good reading week!
I really need to try the Iron Druid novels as I hear they are really good. I know what you mean about series!
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. I had a friend over on Thanksgiving Day because neither of us had family in town on that day. DH’s family does Thanksgiving on Saturday. We watch college football and eat pizza. It was a lot of fun to see everyone. No Black Friday shopping for me. I avoid crowds like that if I can help it. Hope you have a good week.
Sounds like you had a good Thanksgiving! I also avoid crowds like the plague. π
Googly eye sounds like a fun game, my kids would enjoy that. Might have to go out and look for it. Glad you had a great time with the family. We went to my aunts and it was nice to be all together but it was very quiet and seemed more laid back than normal. I think i liked it like that.
Look at you and all those book, you said you didn’t do that bad! π
Have a great week, Stormi! Good Luck with your paper! Happy Reading!
Googly eyes was a lot of fun I bet they would like it. It has three different colored lens, the blue is super hard!! It feels like how you put on someones glasses that have bad eyes and you are like oh my I can’t see a thing…lol.
I did good, I didn’t that many review books! π π
Sounds like a fun thanksgiving, I like the sound the game that is like pictionary but with glasses. I might keep my eye out for it for us to play at Christmas- the only time I can get the family to do anything like that. Have a good week.
Googly eyes is really fun and it is like pictionary with funky glasses…lol.
We play games when we all get together too. Our annual Wii bowling tournament is coming up on Christmas day! I’ve only won it once. My oldest brother will be down for the winter and it will be his first time. Should be even more fun. Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving, Stormi.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only times I play games with my family and it’s fun. Good luck with your Wii tourny. π
Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. It chilled down here too although it’s supposed to get back into the 50’s this week- maybe? Who knows lol. Googly Eyes sounds fun. π It was a pretty quiet thanksgiving here too, which was nice. Just sat around, watched movies and of course ate too much! I’m pretty sick of turkey now though at the moment ha ha.
Hope your week starts off great.
The temp hasn’t been too bad this week but I fear it’s going to get colder..they have said we could have a sprinkle of snow. π
I did stuff myself. But the food was good and the leftovers meant I haven’t had to cook. But now all that’s left is turkey. lol
Look at all those books! *drools* A few of those freebies look familiar. I think I grabbed those last week. lol
I am all turkeyed out for now anyway, but I love turkey. π
Sounds like a fun week. I went to my daughter’s in-laws for Thanksgiving Day, and afterwards, they all played Buzz Feed. I just watched, but it was intense at times.
Enjoy your books…and I noticed A Great Reckoning there…I love this series.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I need to check out the Buzz Feed game! π
Sounds like you had a fun Thanksgiving. You got me this week with Marlene’s Revenge and Snowplace Like Home. I couldn’t pass up .99 and free so I figured I better grab them while I could. Good news! I FINALLY finished Moon Chosen. Hope to get my review up this week. I started a new book on impulse last night and am already 200 pages in so hopefully the slump is fading. Will your paper be done soon? I know you’ve really been concentrating on it. It’s been colder here this week as well so I’m totally with you on the countdown to summer/spring!
I think my paper is due on the 5th so it’s about to come to an end. I am in the middle or writing the rough draft now. I now know why I like writing fiction!!! LOL.
Woah, that’s a lot of posts! And a lot of new books too. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fantastic week, Stormi. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Yeah my month of giving got kind of crazy but it was fun….hehehe. π
Awesome haul of books this week.
The googly eyed game sounds like fun! I bet there were some pretty interesting drawings π
How’s your paper coming along? I hope you’ve made a nice dent in it and will be ready with time to spare!
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading xoxo
Glad you had fun with your family. The googly eyes game sounds interesting! Its like drunk googles!
Hope you have a great week. I am excited for COYER blackout!
I’m glad you had a good thanksgiving Stormi and hope the full-ness didn’t last long!
Good luck with the paper and I’m sure you’ll do great with it!
The games sound like fun! I over ate on Thanksgiving and I just got back from my in-laws celebration. I don’t want to see turkey or ham until Christmas lol. I also bought Soulless on Audible. I grabbed the first 2 audiobooks for this series. I’ve been wanting to read this so I’ll try to do this for COYER. I hope you have a great week!
Your Thanksgiving sounds like it was fun. Our family often plays games when we get together, too. You got some good looking books this week. I picked up Walk Into Silence, too. I hope next week is a good one.
