The Week End Review #3

Posted September 20, 2014 by Stormi in Misc. / 28 Comments

Week ReviewWelcome to my Week End Review which is a combination of Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?

Not a whole lot has went on this week. Being single does have it’s perks I guess as the screaming kids or others to pick up after. Though it does get a bit boring. Β Work has been sort of boring which makes me wonder if the economy is effecting parents letting their kids pick out books from the Scholastic Reading Club or if teachers are just not participating this year. (or they over hired which they tend to do but it seems like withing the first couple of weeks a lot quit because that don’t know their F4 key from their F16. πŸ™‚

I am very excited to show off my new blog button for my Monsters, Madmen, Mayhem. Oh my! It’s my first one and if it goes over well I will be doing it again next year. Michelle from Because Reading aka Limabean designs created my awesome button. It’s so cool I want to sqeee!!

MMMOhMY (1)

The whole month of October I will be featuring both authors and bloggers and doing some scary book reviews. I have gathered some really awesome giveaways from some of the authors as well, so I am really excited. πŸ™‚ I would love for you all to help me spread the word and put my cool button on your sidebar! I got a great line up so I hope you all will come join in on the fun starting October 1st!

What happened on the blog last week.

Michelle at Because Reading has some great author spotlights.

For those who are watching Outlander Berls at Fantasy is More Fun does a great review of each episode on Thursdays. πŸ™‚

I’m A Reader has an awesome giveaway going on right now! (Kindles and gift cards!)

Stuck in Books and I’m a Reader are hosting a blog hop..I always love them but never seem to win anything..lol.

IndieARC:

Hell TownΒ unlikely

Okay like I really didn’t need to find another place to get books, but I got an email about this place and thought I would try it out. I am not sure I like how it is set up so I don’t know how much I will use it. Did snag a couple of horror books for my MMM. Oh my! If you want to check it out go here. It still has a lot of kinks to work out.

If I don’t have nightmares because I just watched The Conjuring (totally creeped me out!!) then reading all of these might do it! LOL.

What might be up next.

The Page Turner by Kevin T. Johns

The Fall by Bethany Β Griffin

  1. You certainly have your hands full with so many scary, creepy books! I would like to try Illusions of Fate, as showcased on your sidebar. Enjoy your month of monsters and mayhem. Such a good-looking badge for it too!

    • ladystorm

Yes, I do and I do hope they are good! I am almost done with Hell Town and it seems pretty promising. I do think I don’t get scared as easily when reading books anymore, but still get a bit spooked at movies..lol. πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!

  2. YOU WILL LOVE Crane and Raven and then be thanking me instead of blaming me Lol πŸ™‚

You need to join Bloggiesta it is my favorite and I have done so much this weekend (and plan to do more today), it’s like a kick in the butt to get motivated. You should join the chat at 1:00est on Twitter today and check it out. The chats are so informative and anyone can join.

I am LOVING all the creepy books you are reading! I can’t wait to see your reviews! So I can blame you for making me get more books πŸ˜‰

    Have a great week Stormi!!!

    • ladystorm

I am sure I will be..lol πŸ™‚ They look really cool!

Maybe I will catch the next Bloggiesta if I see it in time. Wish I could have been at the chat but I was church or lunch after when it was on.

I hope I do talk you into some reads..hehe. πŸ™‚

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

  3. I’ve been thinking of reading Pines, it sounds good so I’ll be curious to see what you think. I want to know what’s going on in that town LOL. And Ice Shear too- just sounds good.

Good luck with your October feature, it looks fun! Love the badge. I’ll be stopping by to check it out.

    • ladystorm

It has started off a little slow so I hope that it picks up. I am curious about the TV show Wayward Pines that is coming on some time this year and that is why I wanted to read it.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

    • ladystorm

I ended up really enjoying Illusions of Fate, it was a quick read for this slow reader..lol. πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Awesome haul, Stormi! And I am going to stay far, far away from the indie ARC place! I’m just narrowing down on my ARCs, and I have so many bought books I want to read, even Netgalley and Edelweiss are places I’ve tried to stay away from lately.
I love your MMM button! It’s awesome. I will let you know next week if I’ll have time to participate, I will for sure help you promote this cool event πŸ™‚
I hope you’ve had a good weekend, and that next week will be a great one.

OMG, my kindle broke and I am so stressing over all the books I have on it to review!! Especially with my MMM coming up! I found out that a kindle fire HD comes out on Oct. 2nd for $99 and that is cheap as I can find one so will have to wait until then..ugh.

I do hope you can participate in my MMM but if not that is okay, but hope you will at least stop by and see what is going on. πŸ™‚

      Thanks for stopping by!

    • ladystorm

Good to hear, I can’t wait to read them. So far Pines is a bit slow but since I know that the rest might pick up I will keep going.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    • ladystorm

Laura, always glad to help add books. πŸ™‚ I will have to keep your blog in mind for October and come check it out and see what you have going on. πŸ™‚

      Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Love the button Michelle did for you! She’s so good πŸ™‚ I have Etiquette and Espionage to read too – I hope you like it, I got it on audio though so it’ll be interesting to see if that makes a difference. Have a great week (hopefully not too boring, though boring can be good!)!

  6. We just placed an order to Scholastic last week! We do pretty much every time we get the order form because he loves books and I want to keep that going! Etiquette and Espionage sounds interesting and I’ve been working up the courage to read Stephen King and have been thinking of trying It. Have a great week!

    • ladystorm

Wouldn’t that be funny if I had taken your order…lol. Reading SK I am remembering why I loved him, but hated him at the same time..he is so detailed and his books are so long but at the same time they are great..LOL Thanks for stopping by!
