IT'S NOT EVERYDAY YOU FIND YOURSELF IN COMBAT WITH A HALF-LION, HALF-HUMAN.
But when you're the son of a Greek god, it happens. And now my friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess is in chains and only five half-blood heroes can join the quest to defeat the doomsday monster.
Oh, and guess what? The Oracle has predicted that not all of us will survive...

First Line

The Friday before winter break, my mom packed me an overnight bag and a few deadly weapons and took me to a new boarding school.

What I thought of this book

Okay, so The Titan’s Curse starts off a bit strange for me because I feel like I missed something between the time that Talia has come back and it seeming like she has been one of the pack for a long time. I thought there would be a bit more awkwardness I guess but seems like she just fits right in.

This one starts out with Grover needing help at a school as he found some half-breeds but there is a monster there already. So, Percy, Annabeth, and Talia go to help him and find the monster is a bit harder to get rid of than they thought it would be. Goddess Artemis comes to their rescue. She is the goddess of the hunt and had her hunters with her. Annabeth is kidnapped by the monster.

When she finds out what is going on she needs to go and hunt a monster but doesn’t want her hunters to go so she has Percy and the gang take them back to Camp Half-blood via her brother Apollo. That was an interesting ride.

Artemis gets in trouble the oracle gives out a prophecy and they need five to go on a quest to help Artemis is in trouble, Annabeth is still missing so they pick a group. Three hunters, Grover and Talia. Percy is mad that he can’t go cause he wants to find Annabeth as he blames himself for her getting taken.

Percy takes off on his own and of course he ends up finding them and being part of the quest.

Kronos is getting stronger, there is still the prophecy of one half-blood who can save or be the downfall of the gods of Olympus. Luke is still a jerk and a bad guy.

The Titan’s Curse has a lot of fun action and was another good one in the Percy Jackson series even though I had problems with Talia. Percy is still a bit irrational but I chalk that up to him being fourteen and hormonal. I was sad I didn’t get a lot of Annabeth because she is my favorite character.

Overall, it was a great adventure and now I am on to the next one to see what happens! 🙂
