The last thing dragon shifter Stig Wyvern needs is his dead friend’s kid sister showing up on his doorstep. He’s just minutes away from entering a mating phase. Sharing his isolated house with the young woman he’s desperately lusted after for quite some time is a recipe for disaster.

But Cora Cardenas has nowhere else to go. She’s in deep trouble with some really nasty people and Stig is the only one who can protect her. That he’s deliciously sexy and makes her tingle with the simplest of smiles is just a bonus.

Cora quickly realizes Stig is hiding something from her. To make matters worse, she’s plagued with breathtakingly naughty dreams starring a shadowed lover who bears a startling resemblance to her host. And just what the hell is going on down in the basement at night?

Stig needs to get Cora out of his house but his inner beast has other ideas. He’s found his mate and she’s not going anywhere...

First Line

Stig Wyvern dried the last of his dishes and placed them in the cabinet.

A man who is neat, now who wouldn’t like that. 🙂

What I thought of this book.

So my very first dragon shifter romance book and well it was quiet steamy! Dead Sexy Dragon is a book that I could have read in one day if I wouldn’t have gotten side It’s a short one.

Stig is a Norwegian Greenback dragon who lives a very lonely life of solitude out in the woods. He is in his mating season and everything is very heightened, especially his libido. He was getting ready to lock himself down in his basement when there is a knock at his door. He doesn’t want to answer it but because he never gets any visitors he figures it must be someone is trouble and it ends up being Cora, his best friends kid sister.

Cora is not he person he needs to see right now because it’s his mating time and he has always felt very strongly for her, but she is of limits because of the bro code. Cora is in a lot of trouble and he can’t push her away. Cora has always had a huge crush on Stig and she is determined to use this time to get what she wants, Stig.

Dead Sexy Dragon was just an okay read for me. I can look the other way at the instant love going on here because they have been crushing on each other for years and just never said anything. I can even over look the wet dreams she has right at the beginning of the book cause it’s a part of Stig’s mating bond thing.

What I can’t get over is how quickly she took to being told that Stig is a dragon! I mean come on, first she find out he has a weird creepy holding cell in his basement and then he tells her he is immortal and lets her look through his life in a trunk while he locks himself up. She was braver than I would have been to go down to the basement to see what he was changing into and then not be one bit afraid of the dragon in the basement!!

With one hand firmly on his chest, she stroked the reptilian membranes stretched between the bony supports. Her head moved from side to side in absolute fascination. “This is Wild.”

He’s a dragon! Now I might warm up to him after a while, after I wrap my head around it but to just go right up to him and touch don’t think so.

It does have a little bit of humor which I liked but for the most part his was a little more steamy than my normal reads. I am not really an erotic romance reader and I would put this up there in that at least in my opinion. Everyone has their level of steamy in there romances.

“Your eyes,” Cora said. “They’re still, you know dragony.”

He snorted with amusement. “Dragony? Is that even a word?”

“It is now.”

So over all I did find the book to be interesting and the whole dragon brotherhood  was different. I am a little curious to find out what else will happen so I might pick up the next one in the series. If you like steamy dragon shifter romance reads then you will enjoy this quick read.

  1. Hmm. I have this somewhere in my Kindle. I don’t mind erotica so that won’t bother me but I would like a little more believability concerning her reaction to finding out he’s a dragon. I may move this up the pile and see if I like it.

  2. You’ve got me really curious now – especially since I read erotica and this probably would seem light to me 🙂 I’m wondering if her response is supposed to come off that she trusts his because she knows him? But still, if a best friend told me they were a dragon, it would take me some time to get used to it! Definitely curious now.

Yeah, you will probably like it. I mean I didn’t hate it, I think it just took me off guard a bit with how it started I liked it enough to be curious about the other dragons..get to meet them at the end. 🙂

  4. Erotica isn’t really my thing so it probably isn’t for me. If you’re looking for another dragon series that isn’t so steamy, you might want to try Lorenda Christensen’s Never Deal With Dragons.

  5. I have never read a dragon book yet.I like wolves, lions, etc but dragons aren’t real-like a unicorn or something. Maybe if I read one, I might change my mind? I dunno. Not really into erotica either. So probably not my thing but thanks for sharing 🙂

  6. Oh I liked this one. But I also really love my super steamy reads 😀 And would totally be cool with a dragon. lol GA Aiken has some really fun dragon ones. Very snarky and a little more UF feel to them but still romancy. They’re my favorite dragons so far.

  7. You know, I actually love dragons. When I was in middle school, I read a YA fantasy where a dragon was a main character, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ll be sure to give this one a try the next time I’m in a mood for PNR 😉
