The Christmasaurus is a story about a boy named William Trundle, and a dinosaur, the Christmasaurus. It's about how they meet one Christmas Eve and have a magical adventure. It's about friendship and families, sleigh bells and Santa, singing elves and flying reindeer, music and magic. It's about discovering your heart's true desire, and learning that the impossible might just be possible.
This story starts like all good stories do, a long time ago.
Here is what I thought
The Christmasaurus is a cute story about a Dinosaur that was found by Santa. He grew up on Santa’s ranch but wanted to do more than just be there he wanted to fly like the reindeer. It’s also about a young boy in a wheelchair who loved dinosaurs and wanted one for Christmas.
Both where very lonely and made a wish at the same time. Then by accident the Christmasaurus got left behind at Williams and some adventures happened.
I liked William he seemed like a sweet boy who has had to deal with a lot of things. He never thought much about how being in a wheelchair made him different until a little girl came to town and became the school bully. Even through all that he was still a sweet boy. The Christmasaurus was just adorable!
It was a fun book to read but I think this one was just a little to kiddie for adults to fully enjoy. I think because of some rhyming songs and fun words that it would make a great bedtime story to be read out loud. I think boys and girls can both enjoy this and would have a lot of fun with it.
I can’t say that the author is a great rhymer and sometimes I was kind of cringing when the elves spoke, but kids won’t care. 🙂
Overall, it was cute and if you have kids give it a try!
