My TBR List is a meme hosted by Michelle at Because Reading. It’s a fun way to make yourself read a book each month off of your TBR pile. The first Saturday we vote on a book out of three listed, the second Saturday we reveal the winner and on the Last Saturday of the month we post our review. So come on and join the fun and for more information about it head on over to Michelle’s blog!
My Picks for this Month
This time it’s books I don’t read a lot of and sometimes I wonder why I sign up to read them…lol.
A year after being laid off from the Smithsonian, Lindsey Simms says yes to a job offer as curator of a heritage museum in Thistle Bend, Colorado (population 1,519). It could be worse—and it is. Because the new museum has escalated a dispute between the Karlssons, Lindsey’s relatives, and the Crenshaws, a blood feud which goes way back to a land deal that changed the fortunes of both families. Trying to stay objective, Lindsey can’t tell anyone about her conflict of interest—especially not the ruggedly handsome handyman fixing up her cabin, who seems to be keeping secrets of his own.
Although he’s the executive director of the family trust and one of Colorado’s most eligible bachelors, Carden Crenshaw prefers getting his hands dirty in town and on his sprawling ranch. Staying busy has given him an excuse not to risk heartbreak, but getting to know the beautiful “museum lady” makes him reconsider. Little does he know, the heat between them will only add fuel to the fire—unless this unlikely couple can prove they’re lovers, not fighters.
I do kind of like those small town reads…so that is why this is on my reading list…but I keep thinking..it is contemporary and not my favorite genre…lol.
At twenty-six, MOSES ZIMMERMAN, is a bit long in the tooth for a single Amish fellow. Three years ago, his fiancé abandoned him and left the Church, and he promised her he’d wait for her return. But, his scheming grandparents make other plans. Moses tries to resist their meddling, but this time, their plans include someone who is tall enough to look him in the eye, someone whose soul is as beautiful as her staggeringly lovely face, and someone who might help him trade the painful past for a hopeful future.
I’m a sucker for a matchmaker story but I don’t read much Amish stories.
After losing almost all of her clients in one fell swoop following an accident involving whipped cream, private chef to Hollywood’s elite Roxie Callahan gets a call from her flighty mother, saying she’s needed home in upstate New York to run the family diner. Once she’s back in the Hudson Valley, local organic farmer Leo delivers Roxie a lovely bunch of walnuts, and soon sparks—and clothing—begin to fly. Leo believes that everything worth doing is worth doing slowly…and how! But will Roxie stay upstate, or will the lure of West Coast redemption tempt her back to Tinseltown?
Just so not my kind of read but it was on sale and it’s for Caffeinated Book Club so thought I would give it a try.
So which one should I read? 🙂

I am going with Nuts because I like nuts and the guys chest 😉
Hope you enjoy whichever one is picked!
oh wow what a difficult choice you have here!!! I have heard some good things about Nuts. But I also have a weakness for small town romances. So I voted for Should’ve Said No.
I voted for Nuts as you mentioned it wasn’t the kind of book you normally read, so that makes me curious what you will think of it. It wasn’t on sale here sadly, else I would’ve grabbed it too.
I’m going with Nuts because I want to read that one and it’s pretty different from my usual too! The first option looked pretty good too.
I voted for Nuts because I just bought it and really want to read it! The others look pretty good too though!
I voted for Nuts, to keep you warm..lol
I voted for Huckleberry Hill. I read my first Amish book this month and I liked it. Not a genre I would read all the time, but a nice and simple one to read.
I went with Nuts…it sounds and looks interesting!
Nuts! It’s definitely not your normal reading and I’m dying to read your thoughts on it. LOL
I went with Nuts, so you could have it done for the monthly read. 🙂
I voted for Should’ve Said No because of the Museum theme, but Nuts sounds fun too!
I voted for Nuts because Alice Clayton is hilarious! And we all need some laughs as this time of year. 😉
