Goosebumps meets The Last Kids on Earth in the second action-packed adventure in a hilariously scary series about a secret society of monster-bashing babysitters.
Kelly’s been a celebrity ever since she defeated the Boogeyman and his army of nightmares on Halloween. But now all the other monsters want revenge.
And if Kelly’s going to survive Babysitter Bootcamp, she’ll have to face the Spider Queen, whose wicked web turns her parents, BFF, and middle-school teachers into mindless minions. All in a night’s work!

Got a couple of just for fun middle grade books that I want to share with you today! Perfect for the young ones who enjoy monster books!

In 2018 I read the first book A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting and so I am going to leave the link to my review. Just click on the title if you want to check it out.

In Beasts and Geeks it starts up a little bit after what happened in the first book. Kelly is enjoying a bit of celebrity status among the babysitters because of what happened at the end of the first book. Though things are not going so well for her at babysitter bootcamp.

She gets an ominous message from a creature (can’t remember what it was, sorry) about needing to protect the turtle. They all think this is kind of strange until Kelly ends up with a babysitting emergency. A young mother needs her right away and even though she really isn’t suppose to be taking on more assignments she does anyway and ends up protecting an infant (with a turtle birthmark) from the evil Spider Queen!

The Spider Queen is out for revenge for what Kelly has done and the Spider Queen and her minions (nasty spiders) turn her family, friends and a lot of others into mindless minions to do her bidding. It’s up to Kelly once again to fight a monster and save everyone!

Super cute and fun story perfect for this time of the year! I love the gang of babysitter so much they each have their strengths and weaknesses. Even though Kelly is the main character it’s the side characters that create a fun story! I can’t remember all their names but I loved how the one girl is so crushing on Curtis and he has no clue! I love Victor because he must really like Kelly to go through so much trouble to spend time with her and get involved with babysitters and monsters!

Highly recommend this for young readers and well adults too! 🙂

Goosebumps meets The Last Kids on Earth as Kelly and the babysitters try to stop an evil plan to turn kids into monsters in the third action-packed book in this hilariously scary illustrated series.
It’s the end of the world as she knows it! Thirteen-year-old Kelly Ferguson’s secret life as a monster-hunting babysitter is taking a beastly turn. Now she has to go on a rescue mission to Monster Island—where monster royalty is turning kids into hairy mutant monsters!
To pull it off, she’ll have to face off against internet trolls, trash monsters, and her fear of screwing up—plus the biggest, baddest Boogey of all. With the fate of humanity on the line, can Kelly save the kids, the world, and her own social life before the big school dance?
A babysitter’s job is never done!

Kelly and the gang know about an Island where kids are being turned into monsters but when Kelly goes before the larger board of babysitters (can’t remember the exact name) she is turned down when asking for help. It seems that there is a treaty with the babysitters and the wolf guy (whose name is escaping me!) anyway he is one of the boogeymen.

Liz and Kevin (who is a monster, you just got to read the other books to understand) are going to the island as it’s the only way to figure out what is going on. Kelly is on probation with her family and school but when the other babysitters refuse to help Kelly along with the other babysitters from her little gang decide to go on their own to try and find Liz and rescue any kids that might be there.

They get themselves into a lot of trouble and it was almost more than they bargained for but it seems that the boogey there is turning bad kids into monsters. Kelly figures bad kid or not they don’t deserve to be turned into nasty monsters!

I thought this one was a lot of fun too! The characters are just great and well Kevin the monster was kind of funny cause he was crushing on Kelly a bit!

I think this whole series is a lot of fun and you do need to start with book one to understand things, so go grab it! 🙂
