Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.
Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.
Name one or more standalone books that you wish was a series.
Only one comes to mind that I could think of and that would be Free To Fall by Lauren Miller.
I am not a huge fan of dystopian type books but I actually liked this one and was bummed to find out it was just a standalone and there wouldn’t be at least a trilogy like many of them are.
Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.
Everything she loved is gone.
Trapped. Aileana Kameron, the Falconer, disappeared through the fae portal she was trying to close forever. Now she wakes in an alien world of mirrors, magic, and deception—a prisoner of the evil fae Lonnrach, who has a desperate and deadly plan for his new captive.
Tortured. Time after agonizing time Lonnrach steals Aileana’s memories, searching for knowledge to save his world. Just when she’s about to lose all hope, Aileana is rescued by an unexpected ally and returns home, only to confront a terrifying truth. The city of Edinburgh is now an unrecognizable wasteland. And Aileana knows the devastation is all her fault.
Transformed. The few human survivors are living in an underground colony, in an uneasy truce with a remnant of the fae. It is a fragile alliance, but an even greater danger awaits: the human and fae worlds may disappear forever. Only Aileana can save both worlds, but in order to do so she must awaken her latent Falconer powers. And the price of doing so might be her life…
I can’t wait to dive into this one as I have been waiting to read it. I got a few ahead of it then I am reading this one. 🙂
I remember how it felt like the air around me burning with ash and cinder. How his blade broke the skin at my throat, a stream of blood warm down my neck.
This is book two of Falconer series and wow that is a very catching beginning. 🙂
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday Teaser but you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.
When the fae try to ambush us- to break us apart- I sheath my blade and hitch the blunderbuss to my shoulder again. I fire off another shot, the spray wide and forceful.
Sounds like something interesting is going down! That is from 56% of the eARC.
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.
Who is your favorite fictional couple?
Well the first two couples to pop in my mind our Jack and Olivia from the Ceder Cove series (still not finished that series..sighs), and Jill and Greg from The Tourist Trap Mysteries (they are not married…yet…but have a good solid relationship).
