Friday Memes: Red Queen

February 13, 2015 Memes 14

Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.

featurefollowFeature and Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.

Do you use the # FF on twitter on Fridays? If you do, are you afraid you’ll forget someone and they’ll be sad? – Suggested byUnconventional Book Views.

No, I don’t use it. I have seen my name on someone else who does it, but I have just never tried it. I am not a huge twitter person. 🙂

I hate First Friday. It makes the village crowded and now, in the heat of summer, that’s the last thing anyone wants.

Not a stellar beginning but it does make you wonder what First Friday is. 🙂

Friday 56

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.

This probably won’t ever happen again but in my current read I am exactly at 56%!! Isn’t that funny! 🙂

Though I try to speak, no sound comes out. I’ve never been the point of inspiration for anything, let alone combat maneuvers.

I am a bit disappointed in Red Queen, I wanted to love it for it to wow me but instead I find it a bit dull and to much like the book Pawn. It does have some interesting aspects that keeps me going but it’s a big let down. 🙁

Red queen is more like a dystopian novel. It is not based off of a game of chess. It is about a world that is split into the two blood types: red and silver. Reds are like the peasents and Silvers are the ones with powers. Its a very interesting book series. The last book comes out May 18th 2018

I know what the book is as I read it. There is another book called Pawn which is also a dystopian which I read and that is why I said it reminded me to much of Pawn, not the game of chess. Not everyone liked this book and I am one who didn’t so never finished the series.

The beginning may not be the most intriguing but I definitely sympathize with her thoughts. I have seen some lackluster reviews for Red Queen which is so disappointing. I’m sorry to hear that you’re not loving it but am not entirely surprised. Hopefully you’re still enjoying it even though it’s not amazing.

I’ve seen this book popping up on a lot of blogs with mixed reviews.
I’m sorry that it’s been a disappointment for you.
Hope your next read is a good one.
    Have a great weekend!

That’s so funny that you are at the exact spot needed for this meme! Don’t feel alone about this book. There are so many mixed reviews, I’m still on the fence about it.

I LOVE the cover, and yes…that is the first question I asked.

    What is First Friday?

Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear the book is disappointing.

There goes my theory that if the book has a great cover the inside is good too. 🙂

Have a good weekend. Pretty neat that you are EXACTLY at 56%. Too Funny.
