Friday Meme’s ~ Lone Wolf

November 25, 2016 Misc. 11

BMR,Friday's MemeSince there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.

Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.

What are you most thankful for (in the blogging world?)

So I couldn’t be a book blogger without being thankful for all the great books I am allowed to review here on my blog. I am also thankful for all the great bloggers, author, and narrators I have gotten to know through blogging. I have featured a lot of them this month and had a lot of fun doing it! 🙂

book beginnings memeBook Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.

lone-wolf

In the first book in a thrilling new series, FBI Special Agent Meg Jennings and Hawk, her loyal search-and-rescue Labrador, must race against time as they zero in on one of the deadliest killers in the country . . .

Meg and Hawk are part of the FBI’s elite K-9 unit. Hawk can sniff out bodies anywhere—living or dead—whether it’s tracking a criminal or finding a missing person. When a bomb rips apart a government building on the National Mall in Washington D.C., it takes all of the team’s extensive search-and-rescue training to locate and save the workers and visitors buried beneath the rubble.

But even as the duo are hailed as heroes, a mad bomber remains at large, striking terror across the Eastern seaboard in a ruthless pursuit of retribution. As more bombs are detonated and the body count escalates, Meg and Hawk are brought in to a task force dedicated to stopping the unseen killer. But when the attacks spiral wide and any number of locations could be the next target, it will come down to a battle of wits and survival skills between Meg, Hawk, and the bomber they’re tracking to rescue a nation from the brink of chaos.

I am in the middle of reading this one and I am enjoying it so far! 🙂

The world whipped in a blur of color. The nearly translucent green of new spring lined the path. Sunlight trickled through the canopy, dappling the barely visible path beneath her pounding feet, while bursts of blue and pink flowers spotted the underbrush.

Nice descriptive beginning and a little more after that we find out she is tracking a killer with her dog Hawk. 🙂

Friday 56

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.

“So rather than waiting for the suits to make agreements about sharing case files, you’re doing an end run around the red tape.” He held out a fist and she bumped it in solidarity. “I like it.”

Not sure who is talking here as I haven’t gotten this far yet but I am curious! What do you think?

book blogger hop

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.  Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.

Name one book that you would fight for on Black Friday!

This is hard because I am one of those that if I don’t get it then oh well I am can it later so I don’t think I would do much fighting on Black Friday. I have never been in one of those mobs and would rather just order it online…lol.

I might be willing to fight for the newest Krew of Hunters book by Heather Graham as I really love that series. 🙂

I haven’t read any good FBI books in a while. This one sounds like a good read. I also love a lot of books that have animal companions in them too, so this might be something to check out. I hope you enjoy!

  2. Kathy Martin

I recently read this one and enjoyed it too. Like you, I don’t think there is any book I’d fight for on Black Friday or any other day. I can always get it online. Amazon and I are buddies. I’m reading The Elizabeth Papers by Jenetta James this week. Happy reading!

  3. Laurel-Rain Snow

Love the sound of this one! And the first book in the series is a great place to start.

Enjoy! Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

I don’t go out on Black Friday, preferring to order online as well.

Sounds like a thriller that would keep me awake nights since it could be true! I like the opening, especially since there’s contrast between the sweet spring day and her hunt for a killer. Meg sounds like an interesting character.
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.

I don’t think I’d venture out into the Friday madness for anything, but I haven’t written my Blogger Hop post yet. Maybe tomorrow. Outside of YA novels like The Naturals and The Fixer series, I haven’t read any thrillers that sound like Lone Wolf in ages. Sounds intriguing. Happy reading!

Ooo! Lone Wolf sounds really good.

I love the Krew Hunter books. 🙂 I would more than likely order the book online too rather than fight the crowds on Black Friday. I’m usually still recovering from Thanksgiving dinner. LOL

    Have a great week!
