Since there are a few Friday Meme’s that I want to participate in I have decided to post them all in one post.
Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.
I DIDN’T SEE A NEW QUESTION FOR THIS MEME YET.
So I am leaving this on here in case it comes on later as maybe they were a bit busy and didn’t get it put up yet.
Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. Take the first sentence of your current read and post it.
If you love M. C. Beaton or Susan Wittig Albert, don’t miss the charming Birds of a Feather series from bestselling author Marty Wingate! In Empty Nest, Julia Lanchester’s life is interrupted by a murder most foul—and a killer who’s watching her like a hawk.
Manager of a tourist center in a quaint British village, Julia Lanchester finds herself with more ideas than time. Her boss is the Earl Fotheringill himself, but apart from him, she doesn’t mix well with the aristocracy. Unfortunately, toxic mold forces her from her cottage and into one of the earl’s countless spare rooms at the Hall. She tries to get a handle on her overload of work, while she finds herself arguing with dinner guests, chaffing at the sudden interest the earl’s son has in running the estate, and missing her new beau, Michael Sedgwick.
Her life goes from bad to sinister when Julia discovers poisoned sparrowhawks on the expansive estate grounds. And soon after, she finds one of the Hall’s visitors murdered—felled by the same poison. While simultaneously both spooked and angry, she still can’t keep herself from snooping, and dragging Michael along into her investigation. But will she find the culprit before her own wings are clipped?
I enjoyed the first book in this series as well as Marty Wingates other series. I am only 11% into this one but I know I will like it.
A blackbird announced my late arrival. His silhouette, barely discernible against the twilight sky, perched atop a turret of Hoggin Hall on the north wing, directly above my bedroom. His pink-pink-pink cut through the late-October evening- twilight in Suffolk. It was a mild rebuke, but I couldn’t ignore it. “Late, Julia Lanchester, you’re late!”
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday Teaser but you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.
“Ah, oh. Am I disturbing something?” He squinted his eyes at the shapeless hulk that occupied the table. “Is that the Hall?”
“Gosh, yes, Mr. Fotheringill- well spotted,” Willow said. “Mind you, once we’ve… I’ve painted it and lined out the bricks and all, it’ll be amazing. We’ll put it in the window.”
Cecil turned to look at the shallow shelf. “This window?”
Willow looked at the space available and back at the model. “Hmmm,” she said.
“Julia,” Cecil said, “I have seven names for you- people for the farms- who’d like to help with the Boxing Day Bird Count. I told them they’d hear from you first thing tomorrow.”
Well, not very interesting but I couldn’t find anything more interesting that this…lol. Not sure what is going on but I guess Willow might be making a clay version the Hall. 🙂
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week we are asked a question to answer so it reminds me a bit of FF and so I thought it made a good fit to my other Friday Memes.
Have you made any improvements on your blog since your started your blog? Did you change the format? Did you change your header? Did you add or remove items from your side bar?
I have made lots of different changes from starting out with a free blogger website to getting a domain name on wordpress. I have change the name, how it looks, the header has been changed three or four times. Changed from one sidebar to two. I am always changing it to fit my mood.
