Do you like fantasy or realistic books? – Suggested byThe Realm of Books

I guess I like both to a certain extent but I would have to say that Fantasy over takes reality. I love UF, paranormal, supernatural, horror, but I also like historical romances, mysteries and at times Middle Grade fun books. 🙂 If I could only pick one though it’s probably fantasy.

Dauntless

Though once a baron’s daughter, Lady Merry Ellison is willing to go to any lengths to protect the orphaned children of her former village. Dubbed “The Ghosts of Farthingale Forest,” her band of followers soon become enemies of the throne when they hijack ill-gotten gold meant for the king.

Timothy Grey, ninth child of the Baron of Greyham, longs to perform some feat so legendary that he will rise from obscurity and earn a title of his own. When the Ghosts of Farthingale Forest are spotted in Wyndeshire, where he serves as assistant to the local earl, he might have found his chance. But when he comes face-to-face with the leader of the thieves, will he choose fame or love?

Prologue

I am air.

I am wind.

I am stealthy like a cat.

A wild lynx of the forest.

I whisper my chant as I await my prey, crouched in the branches of a tree, one with it, as I must be.

Wyndeshire, England

Late August 1216

“I hear tales that the Ghosts of Farthingale Forest might have descended upon our very own Wyndeshire.” Lord Wyndemere looked up from sharpening his favorite sword. “What hear you?”

So far this sounds like it has a promising beginning. I haven’t started this one but it’s coming up on my list and I can’t wait to give it a try. 🙂

Friday 56

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn in your read (page 56 or 56%) to get your teaser.

One moment he had listened to a blackbird calling a warning to it’s mate, and the next a splitting pain had struck his head from behind as all went dark. This must be how Merry felt when he captured her- although she had, thankfully, been spared the pounding head.

Taken from my kindle at 56% now I am even more curious about this book and can’t wait to read it..lol.

    A very promising beginning and an appealing chant.

    I like both fantasy and realistic fiction but I prefer genre, such as mystery and contemporary romances as opposed to general fiction or ‘literature’.
