Known as the wicked witch of Russian fairy tales, Baba Yaga is not one woman, but rather a title carried by a chosen few. They keep the balance of nature and guard the borders of our world, but don’t make the mistake of crossing one of them…
Older than she looks and powerful beyond measure, Barbara Yager no longer has much in common with the mortal life she left behind long ago. Posing as an herbalist and researcher, she travels the country with her faithful (mostly) dragon-turned-dog in an enchanted Airstream, fulfilling her duties as a Baba Yaga and avoiding any possibility of human attachment.
But when she is summoned to find a missing child, Barbara suddenly finds herself caught up in a web of deceit and an unexpected attraction to the charming but frustrating Sheriff Liam McClellan.
Now, as Barbara fights both human enemies and Otherworld creatures to save the lives of three innocent children, she discovers that her most difficult battle may be with her own heart…

What I thought of this book.

I had never heard of this Russian fairytale before but I quickly became intrigued with Baba Yaga.

First I have to say…..THERE IS A DOG THAT IS A DRAGON!!!! 🙂   Who could not love this story when there is a dragon glamoured to look like a dog! 🙂

Barbara Yager is just one of the many Baba Yaga’s someone who helps keep peace between the human world and the otherworld. Those who believe in her can ask for her help and that is what one of the young officers whose child had gone missing did.

Barbara Yager just wants to be a normal mortal woman and when she meets Liam, the police sheriff of the town she starts thinking that maybe this could be a nice town to settle down in. Then she finds out about the missing children and must team up with Liam to find out what happened to them.

Not everyone is happy that Barbara is there because someone is sabotaging her herbal remedies and making people sick. So now they think she is a witch and want her arrested. Barbara figures out that someone is town is not from the human world and has a feeling there is a doorway open that shouldn’t be. She has to figure out where that doorway is and close it before to many creatures from over there cross over.

With the help of her biker friends and faithful dragon/dog and the cute sheriff she might be able to save the town and not get herself in to much trouble.

Wickedly Dangerous sucked me into the story and I really enjoyed it. It to no time to listen to it as I just kept wanting to listen and see what was going to happen next. I loved Barbara, she is snarky, fun and has a dog who is actually a dragon in disguise! She has some big burly biker guys who help her out and they sounded pretty smexy. I loved the humor in the story too.

Liam, sounded sexy and I felt a little sorry for the guy as he has a sad past with his child dying and his wife just leaving. So he isn’t real trusting when it comes to starting a relationship but is drawn to Barbara even when he finds out who she really is.

Overall I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to try the next story though I am a bit sad it’s based on a different Baba, but I am sure it will be great! 🙂 If you enjoy paranormal stories with some light romance then you will like this one.

The Narrator:

Romy knocks this one out of the park, she did a great job with the narration!

I picked this one up recently. I had seen a ton of people reviewing the most recent one that just came out (book three, I think). I was also intrigued by the dragon/dog concept. Glad to see that you liked this one. I just need to make room to get to mine. i have so many books to listen to. Too many great choices to choose from. #BookBloggerProblems

I’ve been hearing bits and pieces about Baba Yaga so this is intriguing. I’m also completely intrigued by the dog/dragon. That seems like something that really needs to happen! I’m glad you really enjoyed this and from the sounds of it I think I’d enjoy this one too though it’s a bit more paranormal than I normally read. But how can I resist a dragon dog?

I’ve heard of Baby Yaga but this sounds like a different take on it. And fun too. I’ve been looking for an urban fantasy t oget into and maybe this is worth a try. I like the idea of a door being open and having to close it… before more nasties come through. Sounds fun!

You got me. I’m going to buy my first book for March! I have to have this. She’s on a motorcycle and her dog is really a dragon! How can I pass it up!
