Mercedes "Mercy" Thompson is a talented Volkswagen mechanic living in the Tri-Cities area of Washington. She also happens to be a walker, a magical being with the power to shift into a coyote at will. Mercy's next-door neighbor is a werewolf. Her former boss is a gremlin. And she's fixing a bus for a vampire. This is the world of Mercy Thompson, one that looks a lot like ours but is populated by those things that go bump in the night. And Mercy's connection to those things is about to get her into some serious hot water...

Here is what I thought

Moon Called was a fun, light listen and I enjoyed it a lot.

Mercy is a pretty cool character, she is a coyote shifter who was raised by werewolves so she knows a lot about their kind and has been told not to let others know what she is. She takes in a stray young werewolf and gets sucked into a whole lot of werewolf drama that could get her killed. She is spunky and just a fun character. I love that she is a mechanic as well.

I enjoyed a lot of the other characters in this series and I really like Adam as well as Sam. I can’t wait to try the next one in this series.

Recommend if you like

Urban fantasy, great female character, werewolves, vampires, etc.

The Narrator

I have listened to Lorelei King before and loved her so I knew I would like the narration on this one and she did great. I am one of those that finds UF interesting but only if I listen to them, I don’t do so well when I read them and so I am so glad this has a great narrator!

I don’t think I realized Lorelei King narrated these books! I started this series before I discovered audio books, so I’ve never listened. I might just have to listen because I love her so much. So glad you enjoyed Mercy! She’s a favorite of mine 🙂
