Things have been quiet in the coastal town of North Harbor, Maine, since Sarah Grayson and her rescue cat, Elvis, solved their first murder. Sarah is happy running Second Chance, the shop where she sells lovingly refurbished and repurposed items. But then she gets dragged into a controversy over developing the waterfront. Most of the residents—including Sarah—are for it, but there is one holdout—baker Lily Carter.
So when Lily is found murdered in her bakery, it looks like somebody wanted to remove the only obstacle to the development. But Sarah soon discovers that nothing is as simple as it seems. Now, with the help of her cat’s uncanny ability to detect a lie, Sarah is narrowing down the suspects. But can she collar the culprit before the ruthless killer pounces again?
Here is what I thought
It had been a while since I listened to book one so it took me a little bit to get my barrings but once I did I started to remember the characters and really enjoyed this one.
There is a group of older women who fancy crime solving and since they helped with the previous murder they decided to open their own detective agency. Sarah does her best to try and stay out of sleuthing but trying to make sure the older ladies don’t get into trouble she ends up doing more sleuthing than planned. It has a great cast of characters and I really like them all! Elvis is a very smart cat. 🙂
The mystery in this one was really good because even though I thought this one person could have been the killer I really was never sure and then the reason why Lilly was killed was totally not the reason anyone thought, even Sarah.

Cozy mysteries, fun characters, trash to treasure shops, and cats. 🙂

The Narrator:
Marguerite Gavin is one of my favorite narrators so it was nice having her voice in my ear again. She is great with cozy mysteries.
This series sounds really cute. I don’t mind if I have a few guesses as to the who but it’s always an extra bit of fun if I can’t figure out the why!
Sounds like a good fit for me, Stormi. I enjoy more mature characters close to my own age. Cute cover and title too.
Bwahaha at the start of the clip! I know that frustration well. Heh Sounds like a fun one!
